Historical Conservation & Artifact Restoration

“Art is the kinetic energy that weaves my everyday experiences together. Wandering the streets under the Andean night sky accompanied by candlelight surrounded by mountains in the city of my birth, Ayacucho, Peru, I was nourished with stories of supernatural beings and transmuting forms. Seeking to understand that which was present yet unnoticed, I earned a keen sense of visual perception. I later developed an ability to recreate and give form to those images that were permanently alive in my head. Through the act of sculpting, I interpret and translate the nuances of organic forms and experiences. My sculptures reconnect me with past life experiences, telling a story from a place of intimacy and authenticity.

Dialogue and interaction with the community exposes me to varied cultures, emotions, moments, and places. Through these experiences, my sculptures connect the diverse realities of daily life. Some of my artistic sculptures draw inspiration from interactions with people and reciprocate emotions back to the observer. These sculptures stimulate visual and physical interaction while evoking thought and emotion. Other designs are influenced by rituals and the use of iconography of ancestral and contemporary cultures. My works are a metaphor alluding to the natural environment and contemporary society and it's rituals.”
