Rituality, 2008
(Description in-progress)
Through three documentary photographies, I explore two aspects of the Andean cosmovision of southern Peru: life and death. The first documentary deals with traditional therapeutics and healing, restoring the wellness of a frightened young child by submersing him in the belly of a cow, ritually sacrificed in the slaughterhouse. The second and third documentaries depict the syncretism of religious festivals: La Fiesta de Las Cruces in Huanta, Ayacucho and the pilgrimage of the Virgin of Cocharcas in Apurímac.
